No matter what your relationship status is, it’s clear that love is in the air. Whether that’s love with an SO, love for your friends, love for your colleagues, love for your work, or self-love, there’s plenty to celebrate this Valentine’s Day.

At BairesDev, one thing we ❤️ is our remote work environment. And on the most lovey-dovey day of the year, we’re excited to share our top reasons why with you.

1. You Can Bond with People All Over the World

Did you ever think you could be close friends with someone halfway around the world? Thanks to a remote work environment, you might have colleagues on another continent — and form friendships with people whose native languages are different from yours. It’s also a recipe for some great vacations and lifelong bonds.

2. You’ll Have More Time to Spend with Your Loved Ones

Remote work means a better work-life balance. For one, you’ll have zero commute time. That means more time to spend with your family and friends.

But don’t think that remote work means lower productivity. In fact, research shows that the reverse is true — workers are actually more productive when they do their jobs remotely, not less.

3. You Can Work from Anywhere

Have you dreamed of moving to another state — or even another country? With remote work, you can do your job from practically anywhere in the world. So, whether your heart yearns for a life in Paris or New York, chances are, there’s a way to make it a reality.

4. You Can Show Your Love for the Earth — By Reducing Your Carbon Footprint

When you’re not commuting every day, it stands to reason that you’re reducing your carbon footprint, thereby showing greater love and appreciation for the Earth. One study found that working from home four days a week would reduce the amount of nitrogen dioxide by roughly 10%.

While it’s true that digital resources do consume a fair amount of energy, the study’s researchers agree that for the environment, remote work is a net positive.

5. You Can Spend All Day with Your Pet — a.k.a. the Love of Your Life

If you have a pet, you’re probably eager to spend as much time with them as possible. Who doesn’t want to cuddle up with their best friend all day? When you work from home, you can snuggle up with your furry companion, all while making a living to support their life of leisure.

6. You’ll Be Happier

Now, let’s talk about self-love. A 2022 survey by Cisco saw a staggering 78% of respondents saying that remote and hybrid work improved their overall well-being and 82% agreeing that it made them happier.

Moreover, nearly three-quarters of respondents said that working from home strengthened their family relationships, and over half said it improved their friendships.

That sounds like a whole lotta love for remote work! Do you ❤️ working from home — or elsewhere — too? Let us know in the comments!
